He is survived by: his spouse Martha Wakefield of Waycross; his children, Christopher Wakefield (Beth) of Landstuhl, Germany and Melissa Terry (Jeremy) of Copperas Cove; his stepchildren, Paul Alvara of Baltimore and David Alvara of Statesboro; his grandchildren, Penelope Wakefield, Nora Wakefield, Tyler Terry, Lynnsey Terry and Cade Terry; his mother Betty Wakefield of Waycross; and his sisters, Cindy Wakefield Myers (Larry) of Brunswick and Deana Wakefield Hagan (Bruce) of Savannah. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
