He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Oscar Caviness, Sr. and Virginia Alice Cochran Caviness; his wife Vera Agnes Luke Caviness; his sons, Charles Edward Caviness, Jr. and Lonnie Oscar Caviness; and his sisters, Martha Jo Brown and Debbie Caviness Coursey.
He is survived by: his children, Connie Lee (Donald) of Waycross, James Caviness, Sr. of Hoboken, Wesley A. Caviness of Jacksonville, FL, Belinda Hill-Cain (Ricky) of Southaven, MS, Faye Anderson (Herbert) of Memphis, TN and Danny Weatherford of Memphis, TN; and his siblings, Bubba Caviness (Donna) of Waycross, Bobby Caviness (Bonnie) of Greenville, MS, Jimmy Caviness (Deborah) of Muskegon, MI and Brenda Smith of Greenville, MS. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
