He was predeceased by: his parents, Soloman Mitchell and Stella Mae Brauda Loper. He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice Cooper of Waycross; his siblings, Jerry Loper of Waycross and Shelba Cartwright of Hortense; his stepchildren, Darrell Holton (Tina) of Pitts, GA and Pamela McCarty (Ricky) of Waycross; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Propes of Hortense and Jonathan Propes of Hortense. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
