With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Burton Eugene Carter (Waycross, Georgia), born in Baxley, Georgia, who passed away on January 29, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottamus Carter and Ocilla Sikes Carter. He is survived by: his wife Daisy Belle Stone Carter of Waycross; his children, Robin Carter Barnes (LaFerrell) of Waycross and Calvin Carter of Baxley, GA; his grandchildren, Shelly Cox (Randy), Stefanie Swain (Chris), Sarah Baughman (John), Steve Barnes (Kim) and Sheila Searcy (Jim); his great grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew (Harley), Charlie, Asher, Ella, Reid, Austin, Dylan, Khloe and Jaxson; his great great grandchild Veta-Marie; and his sister Rita Jane Lipthratt of Brunswick, GA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The retired Georgia State employees, Waycross Exchange Club (wear red coats) and the Deacons of Deenwood Baptist Church are requested to meet at the Church at 12:40 p. m. to serve as honorary pallbearers. *** Everyone in attendance of the visitation and funeral service is REQUIRED to wear a mask and practice social distancing according to the wishes of the Carter family.
