It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Augusta Oglesby of Waycross, Georgia, who passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Hale and Madolin Thompson Taylor; her husband Bobby Jim Oglesby; her stepfather John Taylor; her siblings, Frances Rudd and John L. Taylor; and her great grandchild Cody Oglesby.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Oglesby (Betty Jo) of Waycross, James Oglesby (Rhonda Kay) of Wausau, Melinda Robinson (Corey) of Titusville and Kimberly DeLoach of Tifton, Georgia; her grandchildren, Kelli Oglesby, Augusta Oglesby, Wayne Oglesby, Jr., Savannah Oglesby, Josie Oglesby, Jimmy Wayne Oglesby, Jeffrey Wilson, Christina Robinson, Leianna Robinson, Sean Robinson, Tommy Oglesby and Steven Oglesby; her sisters, Betty Snowden of Wausau and Nettie Ann Mills of Indiana; and her close friend Nell Jewett of Waycross. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home and Crematory (130 Screven Ave, Waycross, GA 31501). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Salvation Army Worship and Community Center (401 Ethel St, Waycross, GA 31503).
