She was predeceased by: her parents, Elzie B. Powell, Sr. and Velma Powell (Quarles); and her siblings, E. Bland Powell, Jr., Sara Powell, Doris Doolittle and Daisy McClain.

She is survived by: her husband Terry Rushton; her sons, Greg (Dafina Rushton) and Lee (Amelia Rushton); her grandchildren, Declan Rushton and Charlotte Grace Rushton; and her brother James Powell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
