He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph William Bennett and Sarah Elizabeth Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Magda Lelia Dunn; his sister Nancy Floyd (Ervin); his children, Joseph R. Bennett II (Sue), Dawn B. Howard (John), James D. Bennett (Rhonda), Starr B. Thomas (Jeff) and Jonathan W. Bennett; and his grandchildren, Emily, Joseph III, Elizabeth, David, Jeffery, Jesse, Sarah and Jackson. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Flowers are accepted; however, donations can also be made to the Joseph R. & Magda D. Bennett Preaching and Teaching Scholarship Fund at Johnson University in Knoxville, TN.
