We are sad to announce that on July 16, 2018, at the age of 89, George Donald Burkes (Watkinsville, Georgia), born in Phenix City, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his children, Patrick Burkes, Donald Burkes and Judy Burkes. He is survived by: his wife June Delay Burkes; his children, Cindy Burkes Selvidge and Danny Burkes (Charlotte Currie); his grandchildren, Mary Ann Selvidge Shuman (Steven), Jesse June, Elijah, Patrick, Caleb, Sophia, Oliver, Currie Burkes and Truitt; and his great grandchildren, Victoria Shuman, Wesley, Mary and Phyllis June.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, a charity close to Don's heart.
