He was predeceased by: his parents, Clara Elenora and Fred Rowe Yount; and his wife Carol Starr Yount. He is survived by: his sisters, Martha Leonard of Lexington, N. C. and Gail Younts of Wilmington, N. C.; his son Mark R. Yount (Wendy); his grandchildren, Anders, Grayson and Presley; his great grandchild Amy Freeman (Myles); and also Isabella.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes (1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd, Watkinsville, GA 30677). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (800 West Lake Dr, Athens, GA 30606). A burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at the Oconee Hill Cemetery (297 Cemetery St, Athens, GA 30605).
