He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Alva Commander and Bernice Ruth Commander (Moore); his siblings, Ray Commander, Lawrence Commander and Sara Avery (Brewton); his brothers-in-law, Wilbur Avery and Keith Richason (Lidia); his nephew Noah Richason; and his great grandchild Michael Martz.
He is survived by: his spouse Wilhelmene "Willi" Commander (Richason); his daughters, Dara Buczynsky (Paul), Amy Martz (Scott) and Julie Mauck (David); his grandchildren, Natalie, Leah, Cole (Buczynsky), Andrew, Scott, Phillip, Christopher, Jared, Nicholas, Benjamin (Martz), Cara, Will, Liam and Lillianne (Mauck); his brother-in-law Mark Richason (Karen); and his nieces, Lynn Ray (Avery), Gina Cobb (Avery), Lisa Baxter (Avery) and Lisa Kupec (Land).
