He was predeceased by: his parents, Senator Sam P. McGill and Florence Clary McGill; and his wife Flora Ann Dunnaway McGill. He is survived by: his sister Kathryn McGill Lamar of Augusta; his sons, Sam C. McGill Jr. (Dana) of Aiken and Peyton R. McGill (Angela) of Washington; and his grandchildren, Samuel Peyton McGill II, MaryFrances Elizabeth McGill, Tyler Peyton McGill (Hanna) and Robert Dunnaway McGill.
