He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Irvin and Cyntha Willis Pendley; his former wife Margaret Moore Pendley; his wife Susie Tompkins Pendley; his daughter Cathy Renee Pendley; and his siblings, Raymond Pendley, T. G. Pendley, Albert Pendley, Margaret Pendley Bennett and Fay Pendley Moore.
He is survived by: his sons, Carrol Pendley (Erica) of Cottonwood, Reid Merritt (Kim) of Scooterville and Glen Merritt (Jennifer) of Cartersville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Ashley, Brooke, Faith, Shawn, Kacey, Christopher, Kyle, Lane, Jack, Audrey and Grace; his great grandchildren, Morgan, Chelsea, Griffyn, Zach, Zane, Blakeley, Hazel, Beau and Emmerson; and his great great grandchildren, Carson, Blaze and Elijah.
