He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Newsome and Malinda McCoy Newsome. He is survived by: his wife Helen H. Newsome; his children, Michael Newsome of Augusta, GA, Cynthia Newsome Walker (Mark) of Danburg, GA and Charles Newsome (Dayra) of Appling, GA; his sister Edna Hobbs of Martinez, GA; his grandchildren, Olivia Winn (Jordan), Jackson Lyons, Ford Walker, Wilkes Walker, Charles Newsome, Chris Newsome, Sue Ellen Florance and Joanna Dille; and his great grandchildren, Emmett Winn, Helen Winn and Thomas Winn.
Per CDC requirements the family will be observing social distancing and masks are requested.
It is the family's desire that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
