He was predeceased by: his parents, James Oscar Turner and Maggie Carter Turner; his daughter Veronica (Oliver Lewis); his siblings, Betty (Monroe Paige) and Sammy; and his great grandchild Janiyia.
He is survived by: his cousin Florine; his wife Tina; his children, William, Sylvia and Drew; his siblings, Martha (William Haywood) and Drewy (Wendy); his grandchildren, Erik, Isaiah, Iyana, Jacquel, Jera, Kezia and Whitney; and his aunts, Mary McNeil and Catherine Gunter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
