She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Raiford Hatfield and Mable Mitcham Hatfield; her husband Earvin "Pete" Joyner; her sister Nelmer Bowden; and her son Jeffrey Raiford Joyner (Sharon).

She is survived by: her grandson Ryan; her children, Earvin Lee Joyner Jr. (Sabrina), Bryan Alan Joyner (Cynithia) and Jennifer Kay Joyner-Thomas; her grandchildren, Ashley Joyner (Brent), Melanie Aldridge (Scott), Tara Sahifi (Corey), Samuel Joyner (Alexis), Travis Allen Joyner (Ashley), Brittany Simpson (Tyler), Nicholas Joyner, Sarah Skyler Thomas (Dawson Ezzell) and Abby Thomas (Ethan Blair); her great grandchildren, Eden Joyner, Anna Kate Aldridge, Olive Sahifi, Coleman Lee Joyner, Carson and Charlotte Simpson; and her nieces and nephews, Susan Davis, Barrett Bowden and Becky Hancock.
