He is survived by: his wife Marilu Crosby Cowan of Warner Robins, GA.; his children, Carla Cowan Whitley (Thomas) of Jasper, GA. and Michael Cowan Sr. (Katie) of Jefferson, GA.; his grandchildren, Lillian Cowan, Michael Cowan Jr., Grace Buonocore and John Buonocore; his brother Harold Cowan (Nadine) of Griffin, GA.; his stepson Arthur Haecker (Allyss) of Spartenburg, S. C.; and his stepgrandson Kai Haecker of Spartenburg, S. C..
