She was predeceased by: her husband William B Payne; her son Billy Payne; her parents, Lillian Smith and James C Sorrow; and her siblings, Maryann Pickard, James C Sorrow, Jr. and O'Dennis Sorrow.

She is survived by: her children, Tammie M Dunagan (Norman Dunagan) and Keith Payne; and her sister Shirley Taylor. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Warner Robins Church of the Nazarene, located at 300 Lois Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
