He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Fitzpatrick and Phyllis Fitzpatrick; his sister Patricia Ann Riner; and his stepdaughter Kelly Henson Bridgens. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Fitzpatrick; his sons, Michael Fitzpatrick (Amy) and William Fitzpatrick (Kelly); his stepchildren, Laura Henson Taylor (Sydney) and Thomas Henson (Maureen); his stepson-in-law Steve Bridgens; his grandchildren, Mollie, Ethan, Emily, Lauren, Tonya, Amanda, Ashley, James, Anthony of Hannah, TJ, Cassandra and Cameron; his brothers, John Fitzpatrick (Margie) and Steve Fitzpatrick (Colleen); and his nieces and nephews, Angela (Scott), Shauna (Jonathan), Alina (William), Gary (Hollie), Lori (Bobby) and David. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, 13 grandnieces/nephews, and 1 great grandnephew.
