He is survived by: his wife Pam Shumate of Warner Robins; his children, Benton Shumate III (Erica) of Eastman, Amy Dodson (Alan) of Somerset and Jennifer Walker (Adam) of Acworth, Georgia; his grandchildren, Allistair, Andrew Dodson, Randi Kate Shumate and Evan Walker; his mother Mary G. Shumate of Warner Robins; and his siblings, Johnny L. Shumate (B. J.) of Kathleen and Sharon Walizer (Jimmy) of Glenhaven, Florida.
