She was predeceased by: her parents, L. T. Fields, Jr. and Eula Nichols Fields; her husband Pierce E. Cumpton; her sons, Robert Sowell and David Sowell; and her brother Bubba Fields.
She is survived by: her son Michael Sowell of Mobile, Alabama; her stepchildren, Terrell Cumpton of Warner Robins, Michael Cumpton of St. Augustine and Pennie Engbroch of Summersville; her sister Debbie McCulloch of Seattle, Washington; and her nieces, Sheila M. Press of Arizona and Cynthia Nichols of Seattle, Washington. She is also survived by three grandchildren.
