He was predeceased by: his parents, Golda Davis Deiter and George Thomas Deiter; his wife Vela Deiter (Martin); his children, Donald, Timothy and Cristi Lynn Zsigrai; and his brothers, Norman Deiter and Lloyd Deiter.

He is survived by: his sons, Paul Deiter (Benita) and Michael Deiter (Janet); his son-in-law Viktor Zsigrai; his sisters, Marty Hiegert, Louise Glotzbach and Liz King; his grandchildren, Melissa Kreill Bennett (Bradley), Alisha Farmer (Jack), Stephen Deiter (Tonya) and Jonathan Padilla; his great grandchildren, Abby Deiter, Lindsey Pierce, Adam Deiter, Knolan Pierce and Daniel Farmer; and his great great grandchildren, Nevaeh Mayn, Avaliese Pierce and Keeghan Pierce.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in his memory to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), 424 E. 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128-6804.
