She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank McWhirter and Lara Taylor McWhirter; her grandsons, Brian Gordon, Brandon Gordon and Cole Gordon; and her siblings, Essie Herndon, Thelma McWhirter, Walter, Franklin, Paul, James, William and Henry McWhirter.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki Walker (Steve) of Warner Robins and Gene Gordon (Terri) of Daytona Beach, Florida; and her grandchildren, Taylor McGraw of Brooklyn and Bradley Gordon of Charlottesville, Virginia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
