He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Hooper and Eva L. Vickery Hooper; and his siblings, Mary S. Payne, Nelda Taylor and William V. Sears.
He is survived by: his sisters, Joyce Minor and Linda Pryor; his wife Gussie "Faye" Pace Hooper of Warner Robins; his children, Kim Brown (Jeff) of Hull and Wesley Hooper of Mount Airy; his stepchildren, Kim Treece of Warner Robins, Tim Treece (Paula) of Johnson City and Carol Powell (Veith) of Fort Valley; his grandchildren, Alex Brown (Anna), Justin Waldorf (Emily), Jennifer Hulbert (Matthew), Erika Trice (Eric), Elizabeth Treece, Sarah Treece and Dylan Treece; and his great grandchildren, Madison, Match, Junia, Merritt, Lucy and Maverick. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will accept flowers or donations. Donations may be given in memory of Alvin L. Hooper to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
