He is survived by: his wife Sue Musick Prater; his children, Regina, Rick Puckett of Douglasville, Rodney and Vicki Prater of Bremen; his sister-in-law Margaret Prater of Waco; his grandchildren, Rachel, Noah Dickinson and Jesse Prater; and his great grandchild Alexander Prater.
