She was predeceased by: her parents, William Watts and Effie Mae Watts (Stone); her husband James Penly Mahaffey, Jr.; her siblings, Louie Watts, Hoyt Watts, Bertha Cornet, Rosalie Phelps, Lilian Golden and Jessee Notch; and her sibling-in-law Posey Milton Bryant.

She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Mahaffey (Judy), Bill Mahaffey (Renée), Jerry Mahaffey (Pat) and Deborah Pannell (Steve). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
