He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra "Sandi" Grubbs; his parents, Burma C. Corley and William Howell Grubbs; and his brother John Robert Grubbs. He is survived by: his son Travis; his daughter-in-law Rosie Grubbs; his daughter Nicole; his son-in-law T. J. Freeman; his grandchildren, Sierra, Jackson, Tyler and Sadie; his brother Cary; his sister-in-law Teresa Grubbs; his nieces and nephews, Hannah, Abby and Conner; and his cousin Mark Murphy.
