It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Walton Matthews of Villa Rica, Georgia, who passed away on May 12, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Glenn Matthews and Willie Mae Townsend Matthews; and his brothers, Glenn Matthews, Ollie Matthews and James Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Ruth Timmons Matthews of Villa Rica; his children, Pam (Danny Gaines), D'Ann (Curt Boatright) and Daryl Matthews of Villa Rica; his grandchildren, Lyndsi Turner and Justin Gaines; his great grandchild Bailey Corkill; and his siblings, Jane Thomason of Villa Rica, Joyce Fuller of Villa Rica, Mildred Smith of Villa Rica and Eddie Matthews of Villa Rica. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
