Mr. Robert "Bob" Logan Sidney, 76 of Villa Rica, GA passed away, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at his residence.
Born November 12, 1947 in Durham, NC to the late Sedrick Sidney and the late Mrs. Margret Alice Saal Sidney, Bob would later become an LSU graduate & earn his degree in engineering. Soon after graduating he secured employment with The Bureau of Indian Affairs in Alaska and later returned to college to attain second degree in CAD Engineering. In the later years of his life he would be self-employed as an independent landscaper.
He was also an active member of Roopville Road Baptist Church for the past 22 years. A luthier & diverse artist, Bob was a unique & multi-talented individual who enjoyed cycling, archery, guns, reading and deer/duck hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sheila Gilland Sidney of Villa Rica, one son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Kassi Morris of Villa Rica, sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Fannin Siedel of LaFayette, LA, brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Crissy Sidney of Tuscaloosa, AL and Jimmy and JoAnn Sidney of Juneau, Alaska, numerous nieces and nephews and 2 grandchildren, Kyleigh Morris and David L. Morris also survive.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at J. Collins Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be conducted Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 1:30 PM from the Roopville Road Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Peeples officiating with eulogy by Sheila Sidney and Joel Morris. The following serving as honorary pallbearers: Justin Gilland, Mark Gilland, Seth Gilland, Brandon Swafford, Jessica Swafford, Hayden Williams, Rhett Williams, Savannah Sauls and Tara Carrier. Interment will follow in the Glenn Memorial Garden with the following serving as pallbearers: Kyleigh Morris, David Morris, Neal Gilland, Hovis Williams, Phillip Waldrop and Barry Boyd.
