It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Irene Matthews Brown of Villa Rica, Georgia, who passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Glenn Matthews and Willie Mae Townsend Matthews; her grandson Drew Martin; and her brothers, Glenn Matthews, Ollie Matthews, James Matthews and Bobby Matthews.
She is survived by: her daughter Pat; her son-in-law Steve Martin of Acworth; her son Gil; her daughter-in-law Judy Shurling Smith of Kennesaw; her siblings, Jane Thomason of Dallas, Joyce Fuller of Villa Rica and Eddie Matthews of Villa Rica; her grandsons, Luke Smith, Levi Smith and Ross Martin; and her great grandchildren, Allie Mae Smith and Gabriel Smith. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Collins Funeral Home (206 S Carroll Rd, Villa Rica, GA 30180). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of J. Collins Funeral Home (206 S Carroll Rd, Villa Rica, GA 30180). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at the New Georgia Baptist Church Cemetery (6092 Mulberry Rock Rd, Villa Rica, GA 30180).
