He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Mathis and Thedus Warren Mathis. He is survived by: his wife June Arnold Mathis of Vidalia; his children, Robert Mathis (Kathy) of Alston, Brian Mathis (Angie) of Ailey and Mindy Mathis Thigpen (Jeffery) of Ailey; his grandchild Avery Mathis (Izzy Petite) of Lyons; and his siblings, Maryann Adams of Dublin, Pee Wee Mathis (Ann) of Vidalia, Martha Floyd of Alamo, Jean Sunday of Alamo and Eddie Dean Mathis (Rhonda) of Alamo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family has asked all family and friends attending the visitation and service to wear a mask and to social distance.
