Horton of Vidalia, Georgia, born in Saint Simons Island, Georgia, who passed away on March 20, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Brantley Horton of Virginia; his son Gregory Wayne Horton; his stepdaughter Teresa Gibbs; his parents, John R. Horton and Willie V. Walker Horton; and his brothers, Billy Horton and Bobby Horton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vickey Horton Wammock (Tripp) of Lyons and Yvonne Horton Corona of Vista, California; his stepdaughter Sue Maybin of Dublin; and his grandchildren, Denton Tapley, Carston Tapley of Lyons, Ben Maybin (Michelle) of Tarrytown, Michael Maybin (Kelly) of Milledgeville, Jeremy Maybin (Joni) of Mt. Vernon, Michele G. Johnson (Jeff) of Alamo, Mandi G. Soles (Rodney) of Dublin, Sarabeth Williams and Mercedes Corona of Vista.
