He was predeceased by: his former wife Shirley Christopher Whitaker; his son Greg Cooper; his grandson Cole Whitaker; his parents, Elzie Whitaker and Margaret Whitaker; and his sisters, Mae Poole and Ellen Ogle.

He is survived by: his wife Nell Whitaker; his children, Teresa Waggie (Guy), Aaron Whitaker, Joey Cobb (John), Andy Blount (Elissa), Chris Blount (Pam) and Bruce Blount (Jodi); his grandchildren, Katie, Emmalee, Gracie, Caleb, Brooke, Avery, Alex, Ashton, Alyson, Dylan, Grace, Anna, Helen, Doug, Katelyn, Christen, Katelin, Michael, Eileigh, Nolan, Chris, Tori Beth and Matt; and his siblings, Faye McLendon of Adrian, Louise West of Adrian, Brenda Whitaker of Adrian, Paula Whitaker of Adrian, Randall Whitaker (Becky) of Adrian, Sue Lynn (James) of Collins, Tony Whitaker (Scherry) of Forsyth, Lonnie Whitaker (Kay) of Higgston, Sheila Atkins of Lyons and Renna Clements (Colin) of Vidalia.

“Their are no words, written or spoken that can describe this lost of our Brother "Bob". I can not describe how I feel, Love is so great only time will give me the strength to express my feelings for Bob. It is hard just to mention his name without tears from his loss.
