He was predeceased by: his daughters, Sherri Thompson and Brandi Thompson; his grandson Phillip Butler; his parents, Prince Thompson and Annie Thompson; and his siblings, Larry Thompson and Betty Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Dixon Thompson; his sons, Ricky Thompson of South Thompson, James Thompson (Tressie) of South Thompson and Kenny Thompson (Lisa) of South Thompson; his grandchildren, Heather Mead, Amber Regalado, Justin Thompson, Cody Thompson (Angela), Lindsey Wiggins and Conner Wiggins; his great grandchildren, Anslie Mead, Landry, Matlin Mead, Myra Mead, Alyssa Regalado, Noah Thompson and Rebecca Thompson; and his siblings, Bob Thompson of Chesapeake, Gene Thompson (Lynda) of Chesapeake, Ronald Thompson of Ivor, Virginia, Abbie Jo Tippett and Sara Register. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
