He was predeceased by: his father Lonnie Taylor; and his brother Edwin "Pebo" Taylor. He is survived by: his wife April Renee Newham Taylor; his children, Melissa Ann "Missy" Taylor of Cedar Crossing and James Lamar "Jamie" Taylor of Cedar Crossing; his mother Florence McKuen Taylor of Cedar Crossing; and his siblings, Benjie Taylor (Alexa) of Cedar Crossing and Melinda Taylor Fordham. He is also survived by four nephews and one niece.
