He was predeceased by: his parents, Lannie Lee James and Jannie Lee Jordan James; and his siblings, Hiram James, Thurman James and Mary James Scott.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Lane James; his grandchildren, Jonathan Brown (Sarah) of Macon and Melissa Williamson (Justin) of Sharpe Spur; his great grandchildren, Camille Brown and Violet Brown of Macon; and his sister Faye Johnson (Edward) of Lyons.
