He was predeceased by: his parents, Rachel Partain and John Wilbur Calhoun, Sr.; and his grandparents, Alma McBride, John William Calhoun of Uvalda, Flora Harris and Warren Partain of Campton, Georgia..
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Calhoun; his children, Kenneth Calhoun (Heather), Christopher Calhoun, Katherine Calhoun Larm (Allie), Cary Payne and Scott Payne (Stacey); and his siblings, William Calhoun (Diane) and Judy Calhoun Hayslett (Charlie). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
