He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Bowden and Rena Hackle Cowart; his wife Marie Busbee Bowden; and his siblings, Cleve Bowden, Bobby Bowden, Elizabeth Curl, Linda Powell and Clara Skinner.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Wyatt Johnson (Mandy) of Canoochee and Kaye Mincey (Jimmy); his siblings, Susan Rountree (John) of Swainsboro, James Bowden (Frankie) of Cusseta and Alice Davis (Jimmy) of Canton; and his grandchildren, Mellissa Graham (David), Kara Olliff, Nikki Hayslip (Clay) and Tedi Rountree. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
