He is survived by: his significant other Eva Hopkins; his children, Joe Sanders, Jr. (Jeanette), Mavis Carter (Milton), Aaron Gaffney (Sandrea), Jerrod Sanders, Gary Matthews (Kesha), Jessica Hopkins and Jamila Hopkins; his grandchildren, Crystal Sanders, Aaliyah Sanders, Harmony Haylee, Harley Smith, Travis Sanders, Jr., Zaliyah Sanders, Joeniqua Sanders, Joe Sanders, III, Aurion Mitchell, Journee Gaffney, Zaria Gaffney, Amaris Gaffney, Josiah Starkes, Jeremiah Starkes, Brianna Mack, Siani J. Sanders, Scott Treynor and Jream Marion; and his siblings, Johnnie Mae Sanders, Terry Sanders and Willie Dean Sanders (Patricia). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
