It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joann Caraway (Vidalia, Georgia), who passed away on February 19, 2018, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Anthony Dowd and Pearl Beasley Hall; and her siblings, Polly Herndon, Ruby Mobley, Christine Clark, Jake Dowd and Wilmer Dowd.
She is survived by: her husband Elemer Caraway of Vidalia; her sons, Tony Banks (Robyn) of Vidalia, Austin Caraway of Vidalia and Dennis Thornton (Lisa) of Vidalia; her stepdaughters, Annette C. Smith (Bruce) of Rentz, Melinda C. Yawn (David) of Vidalia and Cynthia C. Oxford (James) of Wrightsville; her siblings, Lucille Dykes (George) of Vidalia, Carolyn Dowd Mobley of Rex, Eddie Dowd (Barbara) of Vidalia and Buddy Dowd (Frances) of Riverdale; and her grandchildren, Tracy, Ashley, Shayla, Katie, Kyle, Kirsten and Caleb. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
