He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Powell and Mildred Coleman Powell. He is survived by: his wife Melba Barrow Powell of Vidalia; his son Joel Powell; his stepdaughter Heather Williams of Vidalia; and his brother Eddie Powell of Warner Robins. He is also survived by several grandchildren, cousins, and other relatives.
