He was predeceased by: his father Cecil Ray; his wife Rev. Martha Miller; his son James Edward Miller, Jr.; his granddaughter Dalana Miller; and his siblings, Robert Miller and Melba Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Frank Shelly Miller (Jessie Rivera Miller) and Angela Marie Miller Gatlin; his siblings, Cecil Miller, Jr. (Debbie), Margaret Morrison (Andy), Molly Akers (Chestley), Patricia Clark (Billy), Sharon Turner (Jerry) and Katherine Miller; and his grandchildren, Ines Marie, Thor Leland Miller, Jacob Elijah Miller, Frank Shelly Miller, Jr., James David Miller, Jerry Thomas Miller and Sarahruth Elizabeth Miller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
