He was predeceased by: his son James Edward "Cotton" Fowler; his parents, Edgar Fowler and Avie Lou NeeSmith Fowler; his brother Horace Fowler; and his nephew Tony Fowler.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Burns Fowler; his children, Farron Fowler, Velda Sanders (Steve) and Kathy Curl (Billy); his daughter-in-law Linda T. Fowler; his grandchildren, Jason Sanders (April), Josh Sanders (Joni), Mark Brown (Samantha), Lori Presgraves (Lee), Lisa Fowler (Joe) and Kesley Calloway (Josh); his great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Zaylei, Claire, Shenna, Hayden, Kade, Sara, Matt, Hudson, Cullen, Emma Grace and Brown; and his siblings, Gloris Hunter (Larry), Durward Fowler (Opal Dean) and Lester Fowler (Marsha).
