He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Melville Coulter and Grace Voncile Cumbie Coulter; his stepfather Kelly Barricella; his siblings, Lloyd G. Coulter and Patricia E. Coulter; and his close friend Zedrie "Zed" Cecil Godwin.
He is survived by: his wife Judy S. Coulter of Normantown; his children, Dale M. Coulter (Susan) of Yulee, James "Jimmy" E. Coulter, Jr. of Springfield, Angela Lynn Davis (Ryan) of Springfield, Melody Lynn Robinson (Robbie) of Normantown and Angie G. Pittman (Jeff Coleman); and his siblings, Dale E. Coulter, Christina M. Wilson (Fred) and Shirley A. Hannah (David). He is also survived by ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
