She was predeceased by: her husbands, Dewey Whitaker and Richard "Dick" Anderson; her son D. Ray Whitaker; her son-in-law Jack S. Helms; and her siblings, Iretha Conaway, Mildred "Bill" Powell, Laneve Calhoun, Roy Calhoun, Hayward "Dick" Calhoun and Carl Calhoun.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Thompson of Santa Claus, Brenda Helms, EdD of Lyons, Debbie Hiers (Jeff) of Kansas, Terry Anderson (Linda) of Peachtree City, Laura and Andrews (Brett) of Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces nephews; and cousins.
