She was predeceased by: her husband Reverend Jimmy R. Smith; her parents, William Nathan Maddox (Sam) and Katherine Butler Maddox (Kate); and her daughter-in-law Cathy Pope Smith. She is survived by: her children, Reese Smith of Cochran, GA, Danny Smith of Vidalia, GA and Vonda McDonald (Charles) of Springfield, Georgia; her grandchildren, Chad Smith of Cochran, GA, Nathan McDonald (Lisa) of Evans, GA, Adam McDonald (Kaylee) of Portal, GA and Kelli Smith Bass (Rocky) of Cochran, GA; her great grandchildren, Austin, Kinley, Adeline and Gideon; and her sisters, Shirley Lee (Jack) of Eastman, GA, Latrell Thompson of Glenwood, GA and Jane Foskey (Fred) of Alston, GA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home (310 North St W, Vidalia, GA 30475). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
