She was predeceased by: her husband Kenneth Sowell; her granddaughter Carmen Rodgers; her parents, Green Thigpen and Grace Graham Thigpen; and her siblings, Franklin Thigpen and Joyce Thigpen McNeal.
She is survived by: her children, Jill S. Rodgers (Ryan) of Uvalda and Dan Sowell (Stefanie) of Oklahoma; her sisters, Shelby Thigpen Donaldson of Uvalda and Loretta Thigpen Truett (Charles) of Uvalda; her grandchildren, Neal Rodgers (Amy), Kaline Sowell, Ana Sowell and Zoey Sowell; and her great grandchild Ryan Rodgers.
