He was predeceased by: his wife Anna McGowan; and his parents, John McGowan and Margaret Booth McGowan. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Dale McGowan of Vidalia, Charles W. McGowan, Jr. (Judy) of Birmingham and Deborah McGowan Galbreath (Donald) of Milledgeville. He is also survived by three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
