He was predeceased by: his parents, Flournoy Pat Dees and Pearl Wolfe Dees; his former wife Marie Griffin Dees; and his grandson James Scott Wilson. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Carter Dees; his children, Jennifer Dees Wilson (Scott Wilson), Johanna Dees Cabrera (Jose Cabrera) and Joshua Benjamin Dees (Jenn Nunn Dees); his grandchildren, Katie, Emma Wilson, Stella, Marie, Lydia Cabrera, Benny and Karlynn Dees; and his siblings, Martha Dees Briant (Tom Briant) and Peter Dees (Delane Harrell Dees). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
