He was predeceased by: his parents, John David Chason and Edna Lineberger Chason; and his brothers, Buck Chason and Den Chason. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Edith Copeland Chason; his sons, Michael David Chason (Kris) of Tifton, Mitchell Chason (Judy) of Lakeland and Tim Chason (Lynne) of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Dr. Tracy Nolan of Americus, David Chason (Jasmine) of Tybee Island, Jennifer Woolbright (James) of Columbus, Brandon Chason (Monica) of Villa Rica and Dr. Kelsey Chason of Chattanooga, Tenn.; his stepgrandchildren, Craig Hunt (Amy) of Greenville, S. C. and Amanda Miles of Valdosta; his great grandchildren, Brody Chason of Tybee Island, Will Woolbright, Madison Woolbright of Columbus, Jack Chason, Asher Chason and Ellie Ruth Chason of Villa Rica; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Haley, Emma Miles of Valdosta, Sam and Caroline Hunt of Greenville, S. C; and his siblings-in-law, Bobby Copeland of Valdosta, Ben Copeland of Lake Park, Nell Chason of Lakeland, Marie Copeland of Valdosta and LaVonne Copeland of Lake Park. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
