He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Crosby. He is survived by: his children, Justin Wayne Wheeler (Tamara Jones) of Valdosta and Kristin Salter (Shawn) of Lakeland, GA; his father Joe Wheeler, Sr. (Betty) of Quitman; his close friend Patty Reed of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Carter Wheeler, Parker Wheeler, Landyn Wheeler, Salem Salter, Norah Salter and Eleanor Salter; and his siblings, Joey Wheeler (Rhonda) of Quitman, Jon Wheeler (Dana) of Quitman, Sharon Roush of Quitman, Luanne Cooper (Wallace) of Quitman and Deana Smith of Valdosta.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Northside Baptist Church (200 E Park Ave, Valdosta, GA 31602). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
